Vicky qualified as a veterinary surgeon in South Africa in 1978. She spent most of the first 20 years of her professional life living and working in Zimbabwe and built up a very busy small animal practice in Harare. The worsening political and economic situation in Zimbabwe precipitated a move to the UK in 2000. Vicky enjoys all aspects of practice and being able to work as part of a very dedicated team.
Joe Fox BVetMed CertSAS MRCVS
Senior Orthopaedic Referral Surgeon
Joe graduated from the Royal Veterinary College, London in 2002 and worked in a variety of very different jobs building up a great wealth of experience. He spent almost the last 10 years as a surgeon in a busy referral and first opinion hospital in Bristol where he was awarded the RCVS Certificate in Small Animal Surgery. He joined St Davids Referrals in 2017 full-time to take over the reins from Peter and carry on developing the busy referral service. He has lots of experience in fracture and trauma cases and a keen interest in minimally invasive procedures and regenerative medicine for joint problems. Outside of work, Joe enjoys cooking, DIY and spending time with his expanding family; Louie the Goldendoodle pup being the most recent addition.
Peter Attenburrow BVSc CertSAO MRCVS

Peter has a national reputation in orthopaedics due to his wide surgical expertise and huge range of experience and although he has stepped down from full-time clinical work after many years, he is a regular visitor at St Davids to continue with the hip replacement programme. He holds the RCVS Certificate in Orthopaedics and is an RCVS Advanced Practitioner in Orthopaedics.
Carmela qualified from the Royal Veterinary College, London, in 2010. She started her career in a farm and poultry practice in Devon, before moving to a mixed practice where she worked with farm animals and horses, as well as cats, dogs and small mammals. Here she developed her interest in small animal medicine, which led to the move to St Davids in September 2014. She splits her time between the Exeter and Exminster branches, and recently gained an Advanced Certificate in Small Animal Practice. She lives with her poultry-farmer husband, two crazy Lurchers and small flock of 'reject' hens, and in the spare time this leaves enjoys cycling, sailing and travelling.
Fay Gale BVSc MRCVS
Fay qualified from Liverpool University in 1989. After a short spell with the PDSA in Sheffield and in private practice in Coventry and South Wales, she moved to Exeter in 1994. She currently owns two much-loved diabetic cats from the RSPCA.

Daniel Skeldon BA VetMB CertSAS MRCVS
Dan has worked at St Davids since 2007 and lives locally with his young family, scruffy but adored cat and rusty campervan. He supports Joe Fox with accepting external referrals on a Friday. Since qualifying from Cambridge University in 2002, Dan has found the challenge and satisfaction of surgery increasingly appealing. Dan passed the exams for the RCVS Certificate in Small Animal Surgery (CertSAS) in 2011, allowing him to register as an Advanced Practitioner in Small Animal Surgery. This recognises Dan's experience and skill in surgery, both orthopaedic and soft tissue; he can perform many types of operation that would otherwise need to be referred outside the practice. He has had several articles published in the Vet Times and the Vet Nurse Times. When not working Dan spends as much time in the great outdoors as he can, either on a bike, boat or some kind of surfboard.
Ben Thomas BVetMed MRCVS

After that, he spent 20 years working in a small animal first opinion practice allowing him to develop a wide range of veterinary knowledge.
